Originally I thought this was going to be the last installment in this blog series - but I've decided to breakdown the Support into two different pieces. This blog is more geared towards the support available for men - different platforms, groups, and resources available. The next installment will be more about how we can help support our men and how we can show up as allys and role models to our male community - especially our youth. I was so overwhelmingly thrilled to see all the supports and platforms available for Men's Mental Health and the work they're doing the smash the stigma. Man UP is getting a new definition, and we are here for it.
The Support Available
There is TONS of information and content available at the tip of your fingers to learn more about mental health and illness - our website included! But I really wanted to hone in on the organizations and initiatives specifically geared towards Men's Mental Health and hosting current and available services. Some of these services we've accessed ourselves. some come recommended, and some I'd love to hear your feedback on!! We're always looking for new resources to share and different organizations to support, so please don't hesitate to reach out if there's a Men's Mental Health resource available you'd like to share email@example.com!!
Because of current precautions, most of these groups have been adapted to be online. However, because of the nature of the services, this connection is vital and deemed essential in some cases. Please reach out or follow the links in the graphics to learn more about each individual program. Let us know what works for you:
Whether you're someone who will access these supports or know someone who could - it's never a bad idea to bookmark this page or take a few screenshots to have this information. One simple way to be an ally for Men's Mental Health is taking the time to learn more and educate yourself - more on how we can support in the next blog! Stay tuned!
Who are the Men's Mental Health Supports we should be highlighting? Leave a comment for this blog below or YAC at us firstname.lastname@example.org so we can help support their platform/resource!
