Ooooh it has been hard keeping this from you and working behind the scenes to finalize a BRAND NEW logo and brand identity for our #1MillionCampaign.
In 2020, we launched this campaign to help focus on our goal and a mission we are strongly connected to. Michael and I have both been working day in and day out on our mental health journeys, the challenges continue, but so do the good days and the silver linings that come through. When we first founded You Are Collective, we did it to help end the stigma and create a community around mental health and illness that we felt was missing. It has grown in so many ways and we've been lucky enough to have been approached and part of so many opportunities. So much so, that by the end of 2019 we knew we had to focus up and figure out how exactly we could make the most impact in the mental health space.
Enter, the #1MillionCampaign, a goal to fund 1,000,000 counselling sessions across Canada. Why? Because we've seen firsthand how it has helped us and our community on their journeys, and we've also seen firsthand the massive barriers in place when seeking mental health support. So we moved forward, partnering with grassroots organizations who are already doing the week, but need more support and awareness as their resources get stretched thin day after day. Especially with all that 2020 brought the world. You can check out our new Instagram page: @1millioncampaign where we recapped our first year and wow - what a surreal way to look back on all we've been able to accomplish with you. More than 120 counselling sessions funded, thousands of connections made, and more than $6,500 raised for mental health services.
It was clear to us that this is the path we needed to continue on, so we wanted to level up and what better way to do that than defining the #1MillionCampaign and its identity. Thanks to the incredible expertise and creativity of Chris Bingham from Cyan Bold Design, our dreams have come true and our expectations surpassed. You may remember us talking about Chris before - he's also the insight and innovation behind the Pride 2020 Collection designs! Chris saw our vision exactly and created a logo and identity we're so excited to share with you ...
Because there are so many facets to the work we do, Chris knew we needed far more than one iteration and provided us with the most amazing graphics to present all the different areas of the #1MillionCampaign; social + community, emotional health + support, physical self-care + activity. Even within the logo there are details highlighting the important of community - check out those "i's" representing people, the stacked lettering to show you're not alone, and even the use of our OG You Are Collective colours pulled throughout!
Check out a few of the variations!
The blue logo is intended for regular everyday use, but it also represents the social aspects of mental health. It takes a village!
The maroon and coral logo is intended for messages of emotional support and caring. Let’s talk about feelings!
The burnt orange and yellow logo is intended for messages of physical/biological self-care and activity. Fresh air, good food and warm sunshine!
