Everybody has a story. So we decided to just ask people what their's is!
We gathered some amazing community members to represent our You Are Collection and asked them a few questions about mental health. Then we asked them what STRONG means.
What does it look like? What does it act like? What does it mean for you? What does it mean to wear it across your chest for everyone to see?
We wanted to share a couple of soundbites with you before we release the full video!
What does STRONG mean to you?
Waking up every day. Fighting that, battling it, learning to cope and being vulnerable. - Kristina 33, Kelowna BC
Personally I believe with my own struggles with mental health and anxiety it just takes a lot of inner strength to stand up with it and face it every day.- Kelly 30, Edmonton AB
Strong and strengths mean the ability to talk about it and to recognize that it's an issue that everyone deals with at some point in their life and just recognizing it.- Kozy 29, Kelowna BC
Relating to mental illness I think strength is sometimes getting out of bed and facing the day even though you don't really feel like it.- Bronte 26, Vancouver BC
Strong means to me that I'm still here. Strong means to me that I can be there for other people and strong to me is just recognizing and being aware of my mental health, other peoples mental health and what they're going through.- Rebecca 23, Sherwood Park AB
